Onkyo announced its new 14-inch R425 notebook with i5 CPU in Japan. 

The Onkyo R425 is a high-performance and low power consumption notebook with second generation Intel Core i5 processor. Its 14-inch glossy  TFT (1366 × 768) LED-backlit widescreen high-definition LCD display is powered by an Intel HD graphics 3000. The laptop is equipped with 4GB of DDR3 memory, 500GB HDD and a Blu-ray disc and comes preloaded with Windows 7, MS Office 2010 (DR425-Office) and PureSpace MUSIC (music management software). It has a 4,400mAh battery (battery life approx. 5.2 hours) and weighs about 2.2kg.

Onkyo R425A7 (retail-only model) will be available from August 03, 2011. Onkyo DR425 will start selling earlier online through ONKYO DIRECT for ¥79,800 Yen and Onkyo DR425-Office (with MS office 2010) for ¥99,800 Yen.
