NTT Docomo announces Medias Tab N-06D-a 7-inch Android tablet

NTT Docomo announced (in Japan) its Medias Tab N-06D – a 7-inch Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) tablet.

 

 

 

The Docomo MEDIAS TAB N-06D tablet comes in Silver (manufactured by NEC CASIO Mobile Communications), and is the first tablet compatible with V-High multimedia broadcasting service in Japan. Users will be able to watch mmbi’s Inc.’s “NOTTV,” (at 30fps, 720 × 480 in real-time – for a basic-service fee of 420 Yen – $5 USD per month) a mobile multimedia broadcasting station that will start operating on April 1st, 2012.

The MEDIAS TAB N-06D LTE (Docomo’s Xi-service compatible) tablet is equipped with a 1.2GHz Snapdragon APQ8060 dual-core processor (by Qualcomm), 1GB of memory and 16GB of storage space. It comes with 7-inch WXGA (1280 × 800) TFT LCD high-definition display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 2 cameras (2 x 2MP), and a microSD (microSDHC) card reader.

The N-06D is also waterproof and dustproof (IPX5/ IPX7). It is 9.9 mm thin and weighs just 350 grams with its 3610mAh battery. It comes with a tabletop holder with a built-in antenna that enables viewing of multimedia broadcasts.

In addition the tablet is equipped with high-quality audio speakers (by Audyssey), offering superb SRS surround sound. It is DLNA DTCP-IP-enabled, and also is compatible with both Osaifu-Keitai and one-seg services (mobile devices with wallet functions services).

The Docomo MEDIAS TAB N-06D will be available in Japan, starting from April, this year. Price is not announced yet.
