Toshiba Satellite L500-1D9 notebook power jack problem

Toshiba Satellite L500-1D9 notebook with a power jack problem.

Recently, we had a Toshiba Satellite L500-1D9 with an interesting problem. The notebook was not charging and switching on, due to a problematic power jack. Its center pin was pushed back inside the notebook, therefore it was not making contact at all.

The Toshiba Satellite L500-1D9 (PSLS3E-01R00LGE) comes with a 15.6-inch display, powered by an Intel Pentium T4400 Dual-Core processor (1M Cache, 2.20 GHz, 800 MHz FSB), 4GB of RAM (2 x 2GB) and 320GB (5400rpm) HDD.

We opened it to check it out. The notebook’s power jack was not broken internally, its center pin was forced in and just came out of its base.

The fan and heat sink were cleaned, too.

Bellow in the gallery, you will find all of the images (also, the set can be found at our Flickr page) – for reference and part numbers. A video will be uploaded tomorrow.
