Sony launches its 15.5-inch Vaio SE-Series notebook in South Korea

Sony launched its 15.5-inch Vaio SE-Series notebook in South Korea.

The new Vaio SE series high-end model VPCSE17GK/B is equipped with the Intel Core i7-2640M processor (Sandy Bridge) and 640GB HDD, while the standard model VPCSE16FK/B (in black) and VPCSE16FK/S (in Silver) come with an Intel Core i5-2430M processor (Sandy Bridge) and 500GB HDD.

The notebook has a 15.5-inch glossy antiglare LCD screen, which  provides a sharp image, displaying photos in vivid colors. In addition the SE-series is equipped with an HDMI port, USB 3.0 and a backlit keyboard. The Vaio SE series come in two colors – Black and Silver. The notebook’s aluminum palmrest and keyboard color also correspond to its lid color.

Two official videos of the new Sony Vaio Z2 series notebook taken apart and vice versa by one of its creators

A few hours ago, Sony Electronics posted two official videos of the new Sony Vaio Z2 series notebook taken apart and vice versa by one of its creators.

Laptop Exclusive: Sony Engineer Takes Apart New VAIO Z Laptop - "Sony engineer Shinji Oguchi is a creator of the newly announced VAIO Z laptop. On his first trip to the United States, he opens up the VAIO Z piece by piece and explained how this model release differs from past VAIO Z models."

Shinji Oguchi (Sony Engineer) explains the differences between the old and the new Sony Vaio Z series model. The new Vaio Z2 series is featuring a different layout and a unique asymmetrical dual-fan cooling design with optimum airflow.

Sony introduces its new 13-inch Vaio Z Series notebook in Japan

Sony introduced its new 13-inch Vaio Z Series notebook for the Japanese market.

The Vaio Z Series Summer model has the latest second generation Intel Core i5-2410M processor, Intel HD Graphics 3000 and is equipped with an SSD drive (for faster launch times and speed).  The notebook is 16.65mm thick, weighs around 1.165kg and comes with 13.1-inch wide-screen LCD display. The Vaio Z has a thin and light portable design, which makes it easy to carry around.

Sony Vaio VGN-AW11M broken power button repair

A few days ago a Sony Vaio VGN-AW11M (PCG-8131M) was in Laptoport workshop. Its power button broke and it was hanging on the power wire.

We wanted to try to repair it, before ordering replacement parts.

Sony Vaio VPCS117GG got scrambled

This little laptop was for repair at the Laptoport workshop these days. When switched on displaying artifacts rather than the Sony’s logo. We had been thinking what caused that issue, but could not decide, before running some lab tests.

Sony Vaio S Series VPCS117GG (PCG51111W) is a beautiful ultra-small machine with much potentials and superb design. It comes with a Core i5 2.40GHz CPU 520M chip, two modules of 2GB DDR3 memory, 500GB SATA hard drive working at 5400RPM. The graphic chip Nvidia GeForce 310M with 512MB of video ram powers 1366×768 pixel 13.3 inch wide WXGA display with LED backlight.
