After appearing in the US and Europe, Samsung finally announced its Chromebook Series 5 in South Korea.

The Samsung Chromebook is an Atom powered netbook loaded with Google’s Chrome OS, with a fast up-to 10 seconds boot-up and immediate resuming from sleep mode. Thanks to Google’s intuitive UI, the machine combines fast boot speeds, long battery life, lighter weight and powerful technology for browsing the Web. In addition, you can download a variety of Web (around 29,000) applications (Apps, extensions and themes), available in the Chrome Web Store.

Samsung uploaded 2 videos of series 5 ChromeBook, which launch was scheduled for today (June 15th).

The 12.1-inches ChromeBook 0520 starts in less than 6 seconds and is powered by Intel Atom N570 Dual-Core CPU, 2GB memory, 16GB of SSD, Bluetooth, 2 USB ports, an HD webcam and an SD card reader. Its battery holds up to 8.5 hour with a single charge. You can choose the 3G version or the chipper WiFi variant.

The Series 5 Chromebook is spotted at Samsung’s website, Amazon or Best Buy for $499.99. The WiFi model is priced $70 less – $429.99.

Samsung Chromebook 5 is already listed at Samsung’s website with prices between $429.00 USD for the Wi-Fi model and $499.00 USD for the 3G version.

While Acer Wi-Fi Chromebook (Black) appears at Amazon (not yet priced).

Both Acer and Samsung chrombooks have similar specs - an Intel Atom N570 Dual-Core CPU, 2GB memory and a 16GB of SSD.
