ARCHOS announces exact availability date and prices of its G9 Android tablets
Yesterday, ARCHOS announced exact availability date and prices of its G9 Android tablets.

The G9 Tablets will launch with Android 3.2 Honeycomb and the G9 range will be available in 20,000 stores worldwide, featuring an ultra fast dual-core CPU – up to 1.5 GHz, Android Market, 1080p HD video and storage capacity up to 250GB.

Archos announced store availability for its G9 tablets – ARCHOS 101 G9 (10.1-inch) and ARCHOS 80 G9 (8-inch).

The two tablets (shown at IFA, while unveiled in late June) have 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4 (Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 dual-core) CPU, which Archos says is 50% more powerful than the NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU. The G9 tablets are running Android 3.2 (earlier announced to run Google’s Android 3.1, but as we suspected – now they come with Android 3.2 Honeycomb). Read the rest of this entry »
Archos signs with Three to bring the G9 Tablets in the UK
Yesterday, Archos signed “the first UK 3G Deal on ARCHOS G9 Tablets” with Three (Mobile Broadband Operator) to bring the G9 Tablets in the UK. 
Three provides award-winning Mobile Broadband and has the UK’s biggest 3G network – offering ARCHOS customers with the best 3G access in the UK. The agreement will make available to users of the next generation ARCHOS G9 tablets (ARCHOS 101 G9, ARCHOS 80 G9) with out of the box Mobile Broadband on Pay-As-You-Go from Three.
ARCHOS now offers its users with a 3G stick (a solution for laptops designed to fit into the back of any ARCHOS G9 tablets), to enable its customers to stay connected on the go or at home.
Archos G9 tablets will ship soon in September
Archos G9 tablets will ship in September, as Archos announced less then a month ago.

The two resently introduced tablet models of Archos – ARCHOS 101 G9 (10.1-inch) and ARCHOS 80 G9 (8-inch) are powered by 1.5 GHz OMAP 4 CPU. Archos compared OMAP4460 (the Texas Instruments’ dual-core processor) and stated, that it’s 50% more powerful than the NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. In addition, the tablets have a 250Gb Seagate 2.5 HDD, WiFi and 3G. The 3G solution (offered as a Pay-As-You-Go Plan), is a standard 3G USB stick ($49 USD), which is designed to fit all the G9 tablets. The devices will run Google’s Android 3.1 Honeycomb (probably updated to Android 3.2 in September). Both will be able to decode (1080p H264 High Profile videos) and play movies in 1080p resolution through their HDMI output.
ARCHOS unveils ARCHOS 80 G9 and ARCHOS 101 G9 tablets
Yesterday, ARCHOS unveiled ARCHOS 80 G9 and ARCHOS 101 G9 tablets with a 3G capabilities.

Those devices run Android 3.1 Honeycomb and have ARM Cortex A9 1.5GHz dual-core OMAP 4 processor from Texas Instruments. ARCHOS G9 tablets are able to decode 1080p H264 High Profile videos. The ARCHOS 80 G9 is with 8-inch 4:3 screen and a resolution of 1024 x 768. ARCHOS 101 G9 has a 10.1-inch wide (1280 x 800) 16:10 HD screen. Both tablets feature an HDMI output port and support Adobe Flash visual content.
