Twenty minutes ago, ASUS United Kingdom posted on its Facebook wall a confirmation of the promised long-awaited ICS update for its Eee Pad Transformer TF101 device.

Asus announces Android 4.0-Ice Cream Sandwich on all Asus Eee Pads soon

Asus announced that Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) will come to all Asus Eee Pad family devices, soon.

 

 

 

 

The Eee Pad Transformer and Eee Pad Slider will get Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich as an update (good news for those who already own the devices), while the upcoming Eee Pad Transformer Prime will be loaded with ICS.

Google recently announced the latest update for Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, which brings some exciting new features and capabilities. We’re delighted to confirm support for Ice Cream Sandwich on the ASUS Eee Pad Family – our aim is to bring the latest Android update to the Eee Pad Series, but at this time we are unable to set a date for its release. Market demand for Ultrabooks and Tablets will likely increase without both segments to interfere with each other. 

Ultrabooks are a market segment parallel to that of tablet PCs and without any competitive conflicts before the launch of Windows 8, according to Asus’s CEO Jerry Shen. Commenting on market watchers’ concerns that the appearance of ultrabooks may impact demand for tablet PCs, Shen is confident about Asus’s tablets and ultrabooks and believes that the two product lines will not interfere with each other’s market demand.

ASUS announces the release of its 16GB Eee Pad Transformer TF101 tablet in Japan

One day ago, ASUS announced the release of its 16GB Eee Pad Transformer TF101-1B240A tablet in Japan (two months after the launch of its 32GB version of Eee Pad Transformer TF101 for the Japanese market).

The Eee Pad Transformer TF101 (Model: TF101-1B240A) comes with Android 3.1 (Honeycomb), NVIDIA Tegra 2 mobile processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB (eMMC) flash storage. The battery provides up-to about 9.5 hours of use on a single charge and with a connected docking keyboard (will be released separately), can extend to a maximum of about 16 hours. The tablet has an ultralight body which weighs about 680g.

Asus Japan announces Android update to 3.1 for Eee Pad Transformer TF101

ASUSTeK Japan announced Android 3.0 Honeycomb – update to 3.1 (as promised) for its 10.1-inch Eee Pad Transformer TF101 tablet/netbook.


The Firmware Update will improve and enhance performance and stability, HMTL5 video playback capabilities and Flash, and some other minor OS improvements. The update (update notification message will appears on the Home screen) will be available through WiFi, starting at 12:00am on 26th July, 2011.

ASUS Eee Pad Transformer TF101 announced in Japan

Today ASUS announced the 32GB version of Eee Pad Transformer TF101 for the Japanese market.

The 10.1-inch widescreen is with a scratch resistant glass.  Tablet PC is 12mm thick and its ultra-light body weighs about 680g. It easily turns into a laptop and is perfect for presentations and video playback in tablet mode. You can freely use both depending on usage scenarios and styles.
