Sequans SQN1210 chip powers Sharp’s new 7-inch WiMAX tablet in Japan.

Today, Sequans (French 4G chipmaker) announced that its WiMAX chip SQN1210 powers Sharp’s new 7-inch WiMAX tablet in Japan. The tablet is equipped with a dual-core processor, it has a 7-inch display, two cameras (front facing and rear), offers WiMAX and Wi-Fi connectivity, and runs Android 3.2 (Honeycomb).
The WiMAX chip SQN1210 is optimized for mobile handsets and offers baseband and triple band RF, both integrated in a single, 65nm die and supporting Sequans’ patented dual transmit uplink technology. The Sequans SQN1210 is an ultra low power consumption and ultra high performance chip, which lets users to browse the internet faster and get a smoother streaming media playback.

On November 16th, 2011, Sharp announced its 7-inch Galapagos EB-A71GJ-B Media Tablet in Japan.
Sharp’s new Galapagos EB-A71GJ-B media tablet has a NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, under the hood. It is equipped with a 7-inch (1024×600) WSVGA TFT LED backlit capacitive multi-touch display, 1GB of memory and 8GB of storage, which can be expanded via its card reader (up to 32GB).
Sharp introduces its business type 7-inch Android 2.3 RW-T107 tablet with FeliCa IC chip in Japan
A day ago, Sharp introduced its business-type 7-inch Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) RW-T107 tablet with FeliCa IC chip in Japan.

The tablet has a contactless IC card reader-writer with the new generation of FeliCa IC chip (announced in June 2011- technology owned by Sony), which provides enhanced AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) security. TheIC chip has a read/write NFC (Near Field Communication) function for ISO/ IEC 14443 type A communication method (MIFARE). Also, the FeliCa IC chip has a higher performance, reliability and lower power consumption.
Sharp’s RW-T107 tablet comes with Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 (dual core ARM Cortex-A9) under the hood, operating at 1GHz. It also has a 7-inch (1024 x 600) TFT capacitive touch LCD, 512MB of memory and 8GB storage (part of which is populated with OS files). In addition, WiFi, BT 2.1 + EDR, 2 cameras (2MP-front, 3MP-rear), micro HDMI, micro USB and Micro SD memory card slot. The slate weighs just 395g, including its built-in 5,400 mAh high capacity lithium-ion battery which can hold up to 8 hours of continuous video playback.
EAccess announces exact release date and price of 7-inch GALAPAGOS A01SH Android 3.2 tablet for Japan
A few hours ago, eAccess announced the exact release date and price of Sharp’s 7-inch GALAPAGOS A01SH Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet for the Japanese market. 
Earlier this month, eAccess and Sharp announced the tablet to be released in late August, and now they kept their promise.
The GALAPAGOS A01SH (EMOBILE) Wi-Fi tablet has a 7-inch high-definition display and a compact and light aluminum body. It’s powered by NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual-core processor, 8Gb of storage and 1GB of memory. The tablet weighs just 389g and holds about 7.5 hours on a charge. Storage can be expandable to 32GB through its card reader slot.

Sharp and eAccess (EMOBILE-Japanese broadband provider) released Japan’s first Android 3.2 Tablet – the 7-inch GALAPAGOS A01SH.
The GALAPAGOS A01SH tablet (Wi-Fi model) is equipped with 7-inch high-definition display and has a compact and lightweight Aluminum body. It’s powered by NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual-core CPU and runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb. The tablet has 8Gb of storage (expandable to 32GB through card reader), 1GB RAM and weighs just 389g. Its battery life is about 7.5 hours (depending on use).
