Vizio prepares to exhibit three new notebook models at CES 2012 in Vegas.

Recently, Vizio’s CTO Matt McRae said in an interview with Bloomberg that the company will introduce three notebooks at CES 2012, this year.
The company worked on the designs for two years and will be showcasing (at CES) a 14-inch Thin + Light Notebook, 15.6-inch Thin + Light Notebook and a 15.6-inch Notebook. As always, Vizio’s strategy is to focus on value pricing, but this time the company also has plans to compete with Apple’s popular products, but at a lower price.

VIZIO announced that its new 8-Inch VTAB1008 Tablet with WiFi and VIZIO Internet Apps Plus User Interface (V.I.A. Plus – based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread) is now available at retailers in U.S.

The 8-Inch VIZIO Tablet features VIZIO Internet Apps Plus which combines the latest technologies with a unified, easy-to-use user interface across select future VIZIO HDTV’s, Blu-ray players and other devices. In addition, the new Tablet is able to control nearly every element of a user’s home theater with a universal remote app and includes a built-in HDMI port with HDCP support.
With support for Adobe Flash, casual gamers, movie, TV and music enthusiasts are able to enjoy rich content and applications. It also comes equipped with a unique three-speaker configuration, strategically placed for stereo sound in landscape or portrait mode.

Less then a month ago, the tablet was announced to ship on 18th of July, 2011 (by Vizio). And now it also gets listed for pre-order at amazon.com with a price of $349.99 USD.
The VIZIO VTAB1008 is an 8-inch tablet powered by a 1GHz CPU, 512MB RAM and has 4GB of storage space, from which half is occupied by V.I.A. Plus (VIZIO Internet Apps Plus) Android 2.3 based system files. Storage can be expanded up to 32GB, by the use of a micro SD card. The device comes with Wireless-N WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, SRS TruMedia, 3 speakers, HDMI v1.4, micro USB and a front facing camera. It weighs about 1.2 pounds and its battery life can hold up to 10 hours on a single charge.

VIZIO started taking preorders of its 8-inch Android 2.3 based WiFi tablet.

VIZIO VTAB1008 has a 1GHz CPU, a high definition 8-inch (1024×768) LED touch screen and a thin, ultralight design. It runs V.I.A. Plus (VIZIO Internet Apps Plus) interface on Android 2.3 OS. The tablet comes with 4GB of storage space (2GB occupied by system files and apps), 512MB of RAM, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth and a built-in GPS module.
SRS TruMedia delivers stereo audio to the integrated 3 speakers, providing stereo sound, when tablet switches between landscape and portrait. As you change its orientation, it intelligently transfers the sound to two of them.
