Toshiba announced its dynabook R631/W1TD Ultrabook model – for online sales in Japan.
The dynabook R631 (Winter 2011 Ultrabook) is equipped with a 1.80GHz Intel Core i7-2677M Quad Core Sandy Bridge processor (launched in Q2,2011), 4GB of DDR3 (1333MHz) PC3-10600 memory working in dual channel (from which 2GB is built-in onboard) and an SSD storage of 128GB (from which 100GB free space).
Ultrabooks might all come in metal chassis in 2012
The supply of aluminum alloy chassis for ultrabooks may fall short of demand in 2012. Ultrabook models already announced by Acer (Aspire S3), Lenovo (IdeaPad U300s), Toshiba (Portege Z830) and Asus (UX-series), all will ship with the metal chassis.
The Ultrabook devices will shock the tablet PC market.
The recently introduced Ultrabooks from Asus, Acer, Lenovo, Samsung and Toshiba (which will be launch in the near future), will soon impact the tablet PC market.
The tablet PCs are mainly emphasizing light and thin features plus battery efficiency, as well as entertainment capabilities, and once the ultrabooks achieve the same features, consumers would rather choose a machine that can satisfy their demand for both entertainment and work, instead of carrying a tablet PC and a notebook around.
