LG unveils its 5-inch Optimus Vu tabletphone in South Korea
Yesterday, LG unveiled its 5-inch Optimus Vu tabletphone in South Korea.

The Optimus Vu has a 5-inch (1024×768) IPS display (4:3), powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 32GB eMMC storage. The LTE device also has 2 cameras (a 1.3MP front-facing and a rear 8MP with AF LED flash), HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) and supports DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance).

Pantech applies patents for its waterproof Pantech Element LTE
Pantech applies for patents for its waterproof Pantech Element P4100 (AT&T) LTE tablet.

Today, Pantech announced that has already completed a patent application in Korea, for its waterproof technology used in the Pantech Element P4100 (AT&T) LTE tablet.
The Pantech Element P4100 LTE (4G) runs Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) and comes with an 8-inch XGA (1024 x 768) TFT capacitive multi-touch display. It is powered by 1.5GHz APQ 8060 Qualcomm (S3) dual–core processor and 16GB of storage (which can be expanded up to 32GB via the microSD card slot). The tablet also has a SIM slot, two cameras (2MP front-facing and a rear 5MP with flash and 4x digital zoom), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, micro USB and micro HDMI port.

Qualcomm and Hanvon announced the thinnest and lightest e-reader with mirasol display at CES 2012 in Vegas (for the Chinese Market).

Qualcomm MEMS Technologies Inc and Hanwang Technology (Hanvon) announced at the International Consumer Electronics Show the Hanvon C18, the thinnest and lightest e-reader featuring mirasol display technology.
The Hanvon C18 e-reader comes with a 5.7-inch XGA (1024 x 768) mirasol display (223 ppi) and 1.0 GHz Snapdragon S2 Qualcomm processor. The device runs on Hanvon’s custom UI on top of Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Qualcomm and Shanghai Nutshell announced in Las Vegas the first e-reader featuring mirasol display (for the Chinese market).

Today, Qualcomm and Shanghai Nutshell Electronic announced the Bambook Sunflower e-reader. The device comes with a 5.7-inch (1024 x 768) XGA mirasol display (223 ppi), which is powered by a 1.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 (APQ8055) processor. It is loaded with a custom UI on top of Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).

Kyobo’s e-Reader comes with a 5.7-inch (1024 x 768) XGA mirasol display with a screen resolution of 223 ppi, powered by and 1.0GHz Snapdragon S2 processor (by Qualcomm) . The device’s UI is based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The e-Reader can offer weeks of reading (based upon 30 minutes of daily reading time with Wi-Fi off and front ambient light set to 25 percent utilization.
