Samsung expands its Premium Notebook New Series 9 with new CPUs
Samsung expanded its Premium Notebook New Series 9 Lineup with new processors.

Today, Samsung Electronics announced, that the company is adding new processor versions to its Pemium Notebook New Series 9.
Now, the 13.3-incher will be equipped with an Intel Core i5 processor, while the 15.6-inch model will come with Core i5/ i7 CPU versions, making the new (second-generation) series 9 to have 4 line-ups.
Samsung launches its second-gen Series 9 notebooks in S.Korea
Today, Samsung announced the official launch of its new second-generation Series 9 notebooks in South Korea.

Samsung Electronics held a domestic Series 9 notebook media launch event, at the D’light hall in Seocho-dong, in Seoul, South Korea.
The luxury second-generation Series 9 notebook is offered with a 13-inch or a 15-inch display in a Mineral ash black color. The ultra-slim and compact-sized Samsung Series 9 comes with a Single Shell “Aero Dynamic” body design. The 13-inch model is just 12.9mm (0.5 inch) thin and weighs 1.16kg (2.56 lbs), while the 15-incher is 14.9mm (0.58 inch) thin, weighing 1.59kg (3.5 lbs) and offers up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge.

Yesterday, Sony updated its Z, S, E and C series Vaio notebooks for Spring 2012, with new processors and colors.

Now, Sony offers its Z series Vaio notebooks with Intel’s latest second-gen Core i7/ i5 processors and RAID 0 SSDs. In addition the Z series get a new Carbon Fiber Silver option and optional LTE (4G) support. The updated notebook is available with prices starting at $1949.99 USD, and in that amount the company includes also the Power Media Dock drive.

Samsung announced its Second Generation Series 9 notebook at CES 2012.

Today, Samsung Electronics unveiled its second generation of the Samsung Notebook Series 9 at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
The new Series 9’s main body comes in a Mineral Ash Black color and its sides are left in natural matte aluminum. It has also been sand-blasted and offers fingerprint resistant surface. It is powered by Intel’s second generation Core i5 processor and comes in two screen sizes (13-inch and 15-inch), up to 8GB of memory and 128GB SSD. And with Samsung’s Fast Solutions, the new Series 9 boots in 14 seconds, while Fast Start wakes-up the notebook in less than 2 seconds.
Acer announces its new Aspire S5 Ultrabook and Iconia Tab A700
Two hours ago, Acer announced its new Aspire S5 Ultrabook, a new service – AcerCloud, and its Iconia Tab A700 tablet, at CES in Las Vegas.

Chairman and CEO of Acer JT Wang opened the Press Conference, and said that “By Q2 this year, Acer will have four models of ultrabook.” and later added, “We already have Aspire S3, today you will see Aspire S5.”, and later, “The ultrabook is a mainstream train that cannot be stopped.” , and “When Windows 8 launches in the second half of this year, we’ll launch more ultrabooks for the new OS.” added Mr. JT Wang (photos of Mr. JT Wang, not included).
Lenovo announces its portfolio of SMB notebooks
Yesterday, Lenovo announced its portfolio of SMB notebooks.

The portfolio includes the premium ThinkPad Edge S Series, the mainstream ThinkPad Edge E Series and entry-level Lenovo B Series, available in select markets.
The ThinkPad Edge S430 notebook is equipped with the latest Intel Core processors and Thunderbolt Technology. The 14-inch notebook comes in Mocha Black, measures less than one-inch thin and has metal accents. It has a DVD burner or a second hard drive (up to 1 TB of storage), choices of Intel integrated or NVIDIA Optimus graphics, Dolby Home Theatre v4 and USB 3.0 ports. The notebook also comes with Lenovo Solution Center powered by Intel Small Business Advantage (a set of productivity and security tools).
Acer will launch a 15-inch Ultrabook from fiberglass in early 2012
Acer is planning to launch a 15-inch Ultrabook from fiberglass in early 2012.

Acer’s ultrabook from glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), will keep the required lightweight (from Intel) and will make possible a 15-inch model to be approximately as light as the 13.3-inch one. On the other hand fiberglass is extremely strong and not as expensive as aluminum. Acer’s fiberglass cases will be supplied by Mitac Precision Technology.
