Two days ago, AT&T introduced its Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 4G LTE tablet.

The AT&T’s 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is an ultra-thin tablet with a slim and lightweight design, running Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) and packed with optimized services from Google, AT&T and Samsung. The new tablet comes with a vivid 8.9-inch (1280×800) high-resolution screen, powerful 1.5GHz Snapdragon dual core processor, and support for HTML 5 and Adobe Flash Player.

The next generation Amazon Kindle Fire tablet will likely come with an 8.9-inch display. 

Amazon is possible to change ITS’s product roadmap by adjusting the display size of its next-generation 8.9-inch Kindle Fire to 10.1-inch, instead of as the originally planned, according to Amazon’s supply chain sources. 

Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) and LG Display (LGD), suppliers of Amazon’s current 7-inch panel, seems that have started to prepare for 8.9-inch Capacities production displays. 

After launching the 8.9-inch tablets, Amazon may equip its 2012 models with 9.7-inch/ 10.1-inch display.

Today, HP introduced its 8.9-inch HP Slate 2 business tablet and its new 11.6-inch HP 3115m business notebook.

The announced HP Slate 2 Tablet PC comes with expanded touch capabilities, enhanced multitasking performance and embedded security.

The HP Slate 2 has an 8.9-inch capacitive multi touch display, which supports touch and pen input plus a new Swype keyboard. It is powered by 1.5GHz Intel Atom Z670 processor (only 32-bit Windows 7 OS support), a small SSD (mSATA SSM) for faster boot times, and longer battery life – up to six hours (depends on use).

Yesterday, SAMSUNG launched and announced availability of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 along with the Galaxy Player 5.0 and 4.0. for the U.S.

The Galaxy Tab 8.9 is the thinnest mobile tablets currently available in the U.S. market, measuring just 8.6 millimeters. The tablet has a 1.5GHz T250S dual-core processor, powering its 8.9-inch (1280×800) WXGA TFT display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The tablet includes a 6100mAh battery for hours of entertainment and weighs less than one pound (447g).
