Qualcomm announces its Fifth-Generation Gobi Reference Platform

Yesterday, Qualcomm announced its fifth generation Gobi embedded data connectivity reference platform for mobile devices, including thin form factor notebooks, tablets and convertibles.

 

 

 

 

 

The technology is based on Qualcomm’s Gobi 4G LTE wireless baseband modems, (MDM9615 and MDM9215), and delivers fast LTE connectivity on FDD and TDD networks worldwide, with backwards compatibility to HSPA+ and EV-DO networks.

Panasonic announced its 12.1-inch TOUGHBOOK S10 business-rugged notebook.

The Panasonic Toughbook S10 is powered by an Intel Core i5-2520M vPro CPU. The notebook delivers up to 12.5 hours of standard battery life (the longest in its class) and weighs only 3.0 pounds.
