Today ASUS officially launches Transformer Prime and ICS in Taipei

Today, ASUS officially launched the Eee Pad Transformer Prime and Android 4.0 ICS in Taipei.

 

 

Today, ASUS held a press event in Taipei to launch the world’s first tablet featuring the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core CPU – the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime with Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which will soon be available through an over-the-air update.

Market demand for Ultrabooks and Tablets will likely increase without both segments to interfere with each other. 

Ultrabooks are a market segment parallel to that of tablet PCs and without any competitive conflicts before the launch of Windows 8, according to Asus’s CEO Jerry Shen. Commenting on market watchers’ concerns that the appearance of ultrabooks may impact demand for tablet PCs, Shen is confident about Asus’s tablets and ultrabooks and believes that the two product lines will not interfere with each other’s market demand.

Ultrabooks with Intel Ivy Bridge processors will appear in the first quarter of 2012

Ultrabooks with the new Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors will appear in the fist quarter of 2012, following the Sandy Bridge Core i7/ i5 CPUs, which will clear up the shelves, until then.

The Ultra light, thin and powerful Intel based models of the new Ultrabook market segment started to show from leading companies like Acer, Asus, Lenovo and Toshiba. The competition (AMD), will also offer some Ultrathins with great power efficiency and battery life, expected also in the beginning of next year.
