Pantech applies for patents for its waterproof Pantech Element P4100 (AT&T) LTE tablet.

Today, Pantech announced that has already completed a patent application in Korea, for its waterproof technology used in the Pantech Element P4100 (AT&T) LTE tablet.

The Pantech Element P4100 LTE (4G) runs Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) and comes with an 8-inch XGA (1024 x 768) TFT capacitive multi-touch display. It is powered by 1.5GHz APQ 8060 Qualcomm (S3) dual–core processor and 16GB of storage (which can be expanded up to 32GB via the microSD card slot). The tablet also has a SIM slot, two cameras (2MP front-facing and a rear 5MP with flash and 4x digital zoom), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, micro USB and micro HDMI port.

Samsung created a 3-Minute Drama-styled Ad for its 11.6-inch Slate PC in Korea.

The 3-minutes Ad is all about the Samsung Series 7 Slate PC (combination of notebook and tablet PC), and it’s the first of its kind in the local terrestrial television history. The ‘Slate Drama’ has a speedy storyline with instinctive characters to focus on solving a mystery around the birth of the Slate PC, attracting great attentions from viewers.

The Slate Drama borrows the concept of the American-style drama, featuring an invincible supernatural hero and a beautiful woman who loves him, and other interesting characters to show the innovative power of the Slate PC tablet.

Sony launched its 15.5-inch Vaio SE-Series notebook in South Korea.

The new Vaio SE series high-end model VPCSE17GK/B is equipped with the Intel Core i7-2640M processor (Sandy Bridge) and 640GB HDD, while the standard model VPCSE16FK/B (in black) and VPCSE16FK/S (in Silver) come with an Intel Core i5-2430M processor (Sandy Bridge) and 500GB HDD.

The notebook has a 15.5-inch glossy antiglare LCD screen, which  provides a sharp image, displaying photos in vivid colors. In addition the SE-series is equipped with an HDMI port, USB 3.0 and a backlit keyboard. The Vaio SE series come in two colors – Black and Silver. The notebook’s aluminum palmrest and keyboard color also correspond to its lid color.

Samsung equipped its Galaxy Tab 10.1 with a custom UI to improve hotel management services in The Shilla Hotel Seoul and The Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas Hotel, South Korea.

Samsung introduced its own development UI solution implemented in its Galaxy Tab 10.1 Android Honeycomb tablet, which is expected to enhance the efficiency of Hotel management services and increase customer satisfaction. The Hotel services UI solution includes menus, wine lists, hotel packages, transport and other provided hotel services.

Samsung unveiled its 7.7-inch Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet and 5.3-inch Galaxy Note tablet-smartphone with Super AMOLED HD screens at Samsung’s press conference at IFA (Berlin).

The Galaxy Tab 7.7, is the world’s first tablet to feature Super AMOLED Plus Screen. It has a high-definition 7.7-inch WXGA, (1280 × 800) display with 180-degree viewing angle, 197ppi high resolution picture clarity and 100% natural reproduction.
