The $100 USD Novo 7 or the first ICS based tablet gets sold out already

The $100 USD Novo 7 or the first Ice Cream Sandwich based tablet got sold out already.

 

 

Yesterday, MIPS Technologies and Ingenic Semiconductor announced their Novo7 Android 4.0 based tablet or the “World’s First Android Ice Cream Sandwich Tablet”. The most interesting of all is, that this low-cost 7-inch tablet, runs the latest Android OS and sales for just a bit less than $100 USD.

The Novo 7 is equipped with Ingenic’s JZ4770 SoC, which is an ultra low power high performance application processor with a powerful 2D graphic and video engine. The JZ4770 is powered by Ingenic 1GHz XBurst processor core and supports many peripherals, including WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth and TV module connecting.

Newsmy NewPad P9-world’s first tablet running Android 4.0 ICS

Newsmy’s 8-inch NewPad P9 is one of the two world’s first tablets running Android 4.0 ICS.

 

 

Many posts have been published on the internet over the last few days, about the world’s first Ice Cream Sandwich tablet – the Rockchip Android 4.0 PAD, which is powered by a Rockchip RK2918 processor (Fuzhou Rockchip Electronics Co.,Ltd.).

So, is it possible a tablet, which just a few weeks ago was capable of running only Android 2.3 Gingerbread, to run ICS? The answer is – Yes.

Yesterday, Engadget posted some photos (at Engadget China) of two Fuzhou Rockchip prototype tablets, running Android 4.0 ICS.

On one of those photos (the above one), our eyes spotted the name of the tablet – NewPad P9. Although a prototype, it is clearly that this is the 8-incher – the NewPad P9 tablet (below) with its front facing camera situated on a specific and unique place.
