Asus planning to ship over 350 000 Transformer Prime devices in 2011
Asus is planning to ship over 350 000 Transformer Prime tablet devices by the end of 2011.
It seems that Asus’s new Transformer Prime TF201 tablet will be one of the most wanted devices this season, because Asus has added TPK Holding to its touch panel supplier list. With the help of TPK and Asus’s current touch panel supplier Sintek Photronics, the company expects to ship 350 000 – 400 000 Transformer Prime devices, by the end of this year.
The Primes will have touch panels with 1280 x 800 display resolution, 50ms response time and 650 nits brightness. Asus expects to reach total shipments of 1.8 to 2 million units, of its Transformer tablet devices for 2011.

Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is now officially available for pre-order.
The Asus Transformer Prime is so far, the most powerful Android tablet released to date. The 10.1-inch Prime comes with a Quad-Core Tegra 3 processor, 8MP camera and choices of 32GB/ 64GB storage capacity, its sound is powered by SonicMaster technology, and its battery life is improved up to 12 hours, comparing to the TF101 (up from 9.5 hours).
The Prime device weights just 1.29lbs and is only 0.33-inch thin. It comes with an optional keyboard docking station, which transforms it into a full notebook PC and adds a micro SD card reader, USB 2.0 port and 6 hours of extra battery life - a total of 18 hours on a charge.
