Today, Lenovo announced its ThinkPad X130e notebook, or as posted on Lenovo’s facebook page (ten hours ago) – “the last new Lenovo product of 2011”.

Lenovo just published officially (before a few hours) the press release for its new 11.6-inch ruggedized mini notebook, offered with choices of the latest Intel or AMD processors. 

The ThinkPad X130e is aimed for students and kids, with its reinforced and extra durable top cover, keyboard and hinges. The machine is offered – customizable, with options including asset tags, BIOS modifications, custom imaging and a broad selection of custom colors.

Yesterday, Dell unveiled its 14-inch XPS 14z “Less Than an Inch Thin” notebook with an optical drive.

The new Dell XPS 14z is the thinnest fully featured 14-inch notebook with an internal optical drive and discrete graphics option. The XPS 14z delivers a powerful performance and stylish design. The notebook comes in anodized aluminum and magnesium alloy chassis with a palmrest in dark gray.

It is powered by Intel’s second-generation Core i5/ i7 processors, a 14-inch HD WLED display, a slot-load optical drive and NVIDIA graphics option. The XPS has a compact design – measures less than an inch thin and with a 14-inch HD display “Borders on Borderless” fitted into a 13-inch laptop form factor (offering 10 percent more viewing area than a 13.3-inch display). Today, Toshiba Europe unveiled its new ultra-portable 13.3-inch Portege Z830 ultrabook.

The ThinkPad Edge E425 and E525 are powered by AMD “Fusion” APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) with VISION Pro Technology. The stylish casing of the ThinkPad Edge E425/ E525 have soft matte finishes available in two different colors – heatwave red or midnight black with either an antiglare or glossy display. The 14-inch and 15.6-inch notebooks have island-style spill-resistant keyboard for more comfortable typing experience and a numeric pad (ThinkPad Edge E525).
