Lenovo and Qualcomm announced that  now the Lenovo’s ThinkPad Tablet will come with Qualcomm’s Gobi 3000 technology. 

From yesterday, Lenovo’s ThinkPad Tablet became the first Android tablet with multi-carrier mobile broadband capabilities. The tablet will now offer (as an option) worldwide connectivity to business travelers with Qualcomm’s Gobi 3000 technology, which eliminates the need to change hardware so as to support different carriers or region standards. That technology will let users to connect to any major US carrier and will also support global roaming on EVDO and HSPA networks.

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet helps over 400 students to educate in Seton Hall University, U.S.

Seton Hall University announced that is the first higher education institution in the U.S. to use Lenovo’s ThinkPad Tablet PC, with more than 400 tablets (even more than the last announcement from Lenovo) now circulating among students and faculty in the Sciences, Honors and School of Business Leadership Programs. The University is making the 10.1-inch, Android 3.1 tablets a central part of its Mobile Computing Program as well as an essential teaching device.

Lenovo uploaded an official video “The Making of Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet & IdeaPad Tablet K1”, which were announced more than a month ago.

"The Making of Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet & IdeaPad Tablet K1 - The members of Lenovo's global tablet team look back on the engineering, technology and passion that went into the making of the IdeaPad Tablet K1 and the ThinkPad Tablet."

The video explains the ThinkPad Tablet (for business consumers) and IdeaPad K1 Tablet (for consumers) with Google’s Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS and how Lenovo “make the tools”, which we use and “make them do”. Also, approach and opinions connected with the making of both tablets from – Nimesh Shah (VP, Global Infrastructure Services Portfolio – CSC), Jim Hunt (Distinguished Engineer), Michael Vanover (Distinguished Engineer), Preston Taylor (Product Marketing Manager),  (Team Lead, User Experience).

Lenovo 10.1-inch ThinkPad Tablet now is available through Business Partners and Online. Also, Seton Hall University will be the first educational institution to deploy the ThinkPad Tablet when 350 students begin using it this fall.

Unlike other tablets on the market, the 10.1-inch, Android 3.1 ThinkPad Tablet lets business users do more right out of the box, from working productively and securely to enjoying first-class entertainment features during downtime. 

The ThinkPad Tablet caters to the extremely busy, mobile user with convenient features unlike competitor tablets for on the run computing, including an:

Today, Lenovo announced IdeaPad Tablet K1 (32GB) and ThinkPad Tablet (16GB/32GB/64GB) for the Japanese market.

Lenovo Corporation (Tokyo, Japan) announced the launch dates of the IdeaPad Tablet K1 and ThinkPad Tablet . The two tablets have 10.1-inch (1280×800) glossy, multi-touch screens, 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 Dual Core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, 1GB of DDR2 memory and plenty of ports (including HDMI and USB). The tablets are running Google Android 3.1 Honeycomb with Adobe Flash Player 10.3 support.

Lenovo Launches the ThinkPad Tablet (for business customers) – one of the three new tablets from Lenovo.

The new Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet is one of the Company’s first mobile internet devices featuring Android 3.1 Honeycomb platform. It features an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core mobile CPU, that offer extreme multitasking, noticeably faster web browsing with built-in Adobe Flash Player, console-quality gaming and low power consumption.

The ThinkPad Tablet comes with a 10.1-inch WXGA (1280×800) IPS display (178-degree viewing angle) with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass. The tablet weighs about 1.65 lbs.  Read the rest of this entry »
