Archos G9 tablets will ship soon in September

Archos G9 tablets will ship in September, as Archos announced less then a month ago.

The two resently introduced tablet models of Archos – ARCHOS 101 G9 (10.1-inch) and ARCHOS 80 G9 (8-inch) are powered by 1.5 GHz OMAP 4 CPU. Archos compared OMAP4460 (the Texas Instruments’ dual-core processor) and stated, that it’s 50% more powerful than the NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. In addition, the tablets have a 250Gb Seagate 2.5 HDD, WiFi and 3G. The 3G solution (offered as a Pay-As-You-Go Plan), is a standard 3G USB stick ($49 USD), which is designed to fit all the G9 tablets. The devices will run Google’s Android 3.1 Honeycomb (probably updated to Android 3.2 in September).  Both will be able to decode (1080p H264 High Profile videos) and play movies in 1080p resolution through their HDMI output.
