Replacement of Screen ribbon cable on Dell Inspiron 1545-6505

Dell Inspiron 1545-6505 – Screen ribbon cable replacement.

Recently, a Dell Inspiron 1545 notebook was brought to us, at Laptoport, with a non-working screen. The user explained that the notebook was dropped from around two feet height. And added, that in the beginning when the problem occurred, he could of find a position in which the display was working. Then, one day it suddenly stopped functioning.

The Dell Inspiron 1545-6505 notebook model has a 15.6-inch HD display, powered by 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 processor, 4GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive. And now, we were going to open it and check it out.

When we examined it externally, the notebook did not have any breakage and marks from being dropped. We suspected that it might be some loose cable connection, but in this case the problem was different.

A few of the wires connecting the inverter got broken, exactly where the cable twists, when the display lid gets opened or closed. Also, internally some plastics were broken too (we repaired them).

We ordered a replacement part (OU227F), and here is the video (link will be provided later today, or tomorrow ) of replacing the screen ribbon cable on Dell Inspiron 1545-6505 Microsatin Blue.
