Yesterday, LG unveiled its 5-inch Optimus Vu tabletphone in South Korea.

The Optimus Vu has a 5-inch (1024×768) IPS display (4:3), powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 32GB eMMC storage. The LTE device also has 2 cameras (a 1.3MP front-facing and a rear 8MP with AF LED flash), HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) and supports DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance).

The tablet-smartphone also features a stylus-like Rubberdium pen, a unique built-in QuickClip hotkey (which lets you capture screenshots and memos) and is pre-loaded with Polaris Office (for openning documents, spreadsheets and presentations).

The Optimus Vu comes with a 2,080mAh battery and its dimension are 139.6 x 90.4 x 8.5mm.  It runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), but will probably get an update to ICS after being launched.

“The Optimus Vu: was designed to maximize what customers could do with a smartphone,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company. “By offering an optimal 4:3 ratio viewing experience, 5-inch display combined with superfast LTE technology, Optimus Vu: is just one example of what we can achieve when we combine our best technology with customer needs.”

The LG Optimus Vu will be introduced in South Korea in March, this year, and will be showcased at MWC 2012 from February 27th to March 1st, 2012 (at LG’s stand – Hall 8).
