Almost a year ago (back in May, 2011), we had an MSI EX610 (MS-163D) notebook brought to us, at Laptoport, for a noisy-fan replacement. Recently the machine stopped working, and here it is again.
MSI VR630X (MS-1672) notebook fan and heat sink cleanup
Recently, an MSI VR630X (MS-1672) notebook, was brought to us, at Laptoport, for an internal cooling-components cleanup, and Windows 7 installation.

The notebook heatsink got a bit dirty, after operating for a long time without being serviced.
The MSI VR630X (MS-1672) is equipped with a 2.0GHz AMD Sempron (SI-40) processor (socket S1/ G2 – 638pin), 1GB of DDR2 (800MHz) memory and 160GB HDD (5400rpm). It also has a 15.6-inch WXGA (1366×768) display, powered by Nvidia GeForce 9100M G graphics.
MSI gets recognition as Notebook maker of the Year in Australia
Today, MSI announced that got recognized in Australia as - Notebook maker of the Year 2011.

MSI wins the notebook race, by getting recognized from the Australia’s PC User magazine, which praised MSI notebooks for winning this year’s award – Notebook maker of the Year 2011.
The magazine pointing out that it reviewed 15 models from various MSI laptops series over the year 2011. And after testing and evaluating those notebook models (which the company sent to the Australian magazine), Australia’s PC User magazine awarded each of them for impressive performance and quality with high scores – over 75% ahead of other notebook manufacturers.

MSI showcasing its refreshed G Series Gaming Notebooks at NVIDIA GeForce LAN 6
MSI is showcasing its refreshed G Series Gaming Notebooks at NVIDIA GeForce LAN 6, which is taking place on the Aircraft Carrier USS Hornet (Alameda, California) from October 14th – 16th, this year.

MSI is displaying its upgraded GT780DXR and GT683DXR (as well as the X460 ultraslim model) gaming notebooks with the latest generation Intel Core i7 (2.20GHz i7-2670QM, 6M of Cache) processors, during NVIDIA GeForce LAN 6.

Yesterday, MSI unveiled its new 15.6-inch Full HD GT683DX gaming laptop.

The new generation GT683DX/ DXR – top-of-the-line gaming laptop is the ultimate machine in performance and hardware. It packs Intel’s second gen Core i7-2630QM quad core processor, nVidia’s latest and most powerful GeForce GTX 570M discrete chip (1.5GB GDDR5 display memory) – which supports Microsoft DirectX 11 and nVidia PhysX. In addition, four DDR3 memory slots (up to 16GB RAM), accelerated dual storage (HDD, SSD) architecture and Dynaudio and THX TruStudio Pro smart wrap around sound.

MSI X460 gets a product page in Japan
The 14-inch MSI X460 got a product page in Japan. 
In Japan, the X-Slim Series notebook is offered with an Intel Core i7 quad-core CPU, 4GB of RAM and a fast SATA 500GB hard drive (7200rpm). Its 14-inch HD (1366×768) glossy LCD display (with 16:9 aspect ratio) is powered by Intel HD Graphic 3000 graphic chip.
