AT&T offers Sony Tablet P in the U.S. for $399 USD with a 2 year contract.

 

 

 

 

AT&T announced that the dual-screen Sony Tablet P will be available in the States, starting from March 4th, 2012.

The Sony Tablet P has two 5.5-inch screens with display resolution of 1024 x 480, powered by NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core 1GHz mobile processor, 1GB of memory and 4GB of storage. The tablet also comes with a 0.3MP front-facing and a 5MP rear camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, 4G support, a microUSB port and microSD card reader (for additional – up to 32GB).

Asus announces the launch of its 10.1-inch Eee Pad Slider SL101 for Japan

Today, Asus announced the launch of its 10.1-inch Eee Pad Slider SL101 for the Japanese market.

The ultralight Eee Pad Slider SL101 tablet comes in white. It is 18.3mm thin and weighs about 960g. The Slider’s 10.1-inch wide multi-touch IPS LCD screen (with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass) is powered by NVIDIA Tegra processor, 32GB of storage space and 1GB LPDDR2 memory. The device runs Android 3.1 Honeycomb (upgradeable to 3.2), and supports Adobe Flash (can be downloaded from Android Market).

NEC announces its 10.1-inch LaVie Touch-Windows 7 tablet in Japan

Today, NEC announced its 10.1-inch LaVie Touch – Windows 7 tablet in Japan.

The LaVie Touch tablet is powered by a 1.50GHz Intel Atom Z670 processor with Intel Hyper Threading technology, 2GB of DDR2 memory, 64GB SSD storage and weighs about 729g. It has a 10.1-inch matte (1280×800) IPS LCD lowlight reflection and outdoor viewable LCD (ExTOUCH) touch screen and a keyboard, so you can enter text in both ways and use it also as a PC.

eAccess launches its 7-inch A01HW eMobile Android 2.3 WiFi tablet in Japan

EAccess launched its 7-inch A01HW eMobile Android 2.3 WiFi tablet with XGA display in Japan.

The A01HW (was introduced earlier this year)  is Japan’s first 7-inch XGA display tablet. The tablet is powered by 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 Samsung CPU, 512MB of memory, 4GB of storage – expandable to 32GB through the micro SD card reader. 

Also, you get GPS navigation, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, micro USB port and 1.3MP webcam/ 3MP rear camera. The device runs on Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread and can support 720p movie playback. The A01HW eMobile tablet weighs approx. 500g with its 4800mAh battery and comes in Black.

Lenovo postpones shipment of IdeaPad Tablet K1 in Japan

Lenovo postponed shipment of IdeaPad Tablet K1 in Japan.

The IdeaPad Tablet K1 is the first Android 3.1 Honeycomb tablet certified for streaming from Netflix (video streaming). It comes with a 10.1-inch LCD, up to 64GB of storage, integrated Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11 Wi-Fi connectivity and tools for flexibility, power and security. The IdeaPad Tablet K1 is 13.3mm thick and weighs 750g. It comes in two different colors – White and Red. The tablet has a micro SD card reader, micro HDMI and two cameras (2MP front-Webcam and 5MP rear). Its battery life can hold up to about 8.6 hours (depending on use).

Yesterday, Mouse Computer announced its new 10.1-inch LuvBook M Series LB-M140 netbook in Japan. 
The LuvBook M Series has 1.66GHz Atom N570 dual cores CPU, 2GB of memory and 320GB hard drive. The 10.1-inch LED backlit LCD high-resolution display is powered by an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 video chip. In addition, the netbook has WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, LAN, two USB 2.0 ports, a media card reader and weighs just 1.1kg. It comes loaded with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit OS. NEC introduces its 7-inch Android 2.2 LifeTouch Security Pack business tablet in Japan

NEC introduced its 7-inch Android 2.2 (Froyo) LifeTouch (CloudCommunicator) Security-Packed business tablet in Japan.

The LifeTouch Security Pack tablet has various security features:

Protection against loss (Anti-Lost)

  • Setting Password Policy settings (to prevent users with easy passwords)
  • Local wipe feature  (built-in Erase Data over a set number of password inputs)
  • Support to prevent data loss from the SD Memory Card  (data encryption)

Prevention of unauthorized use

  • Security administration (Change terminal settings by limiting the use of the tablet)
  • Device Restrictions (capability to restrict use of devices such as Bluetooth and cameras banned by the admin)
  • Log management (research and exploiting failure of the user operations)
  • Installing the application control (limits on the use of unrelated business apps)

Also, the tablet comes with McAfee Mobile Security (30-day trial), which provides additional virus protection, and enhanced network security (VPN and corporate network security, IP address filtering).
