India gets ViewSonic ViewPad 10s Android 2.2 tablet for 350 USD

India gets ViewSonic’s ViewPad 10s tablet, running Android 2.2 (Froyo) for $350 USD.

 

 

The ViewPad 10s tablet has a 10.1-inch (1024 x 600) capacitive multi-touch LED backlit display (200nits). It is powered by 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 250 SMP dual Cortex-A9 processor, 512MB of DDR2 (667MHz) memory and 512MB NAND Flash storage.

NEC introduces its 7-inch Android 2.2 LifeTouch Security Pack business tablet in Japan

NEC introduced its 7-inch Android 2.2 (Froyo) LifeTouch (CloudCommunicator) Security-Packed business tablet in Japan.

The LifeTouch Security Pack tablet has various security features:

Protection against loss (Anti-Lost)

  • Setting Password Policy settings (to prevent users with easy passwords)
  • Local wipe feature  (built-in Erase Data over a set number of password inputs)
  • Support to prevent data loss from the SD Memory Card  (data encryption)

Prevention of unauthorized use

  • Security administration (Change terminal settings by limiting the use of the tablet)
  • Device Restrictions (capability to restrict use of devices such as Bluetooth and cameras banned by the admin)
  • Log management (research and exploiting failure of the user operations)
  • Installing the application control (limits on the use of unrelated business apps)

Also, the tablet comes with McAfee Mobile Security (30-day trial), which provides additional virus protection, and enhanced network security (VPN and corporate network security, IP address filtering).

PanDigital unveils three new 7-inch Android tablets and another one is on its way

FRONTIER launches 10.1-inch atom tablet with Android 2.2 or Windows 7 in Japan

FRONTIER launched 10.1-inch atom tablet with Android 2.2 or Windows 7 for the Japanese market.

The Intel Atom N455 tablet comes in two model variations, meeting different customer needs and requirements, a cheaper one with Android 2.2 Froyo (model FT102-16) and with windows 7 (model FT102-32).

It can also be used as a netbook, by connecting a wireless keyboard and adjusting its body side arm, achieving a PC usability. For faster OS and application startup, the tablet comes with an SSD drive of 16GB or 32GB (depends on model). It’s equipped with a 1.3M WEB camera and a standard voice recorder, for taking notes on important meetings or hearings. FRONTIER tablet’s battery life is about 3.5 hours (depending on use), but can hold up to 8 hours by an extended battery (optional).

LG and iriver will launch iriver tab ILT-MX100 Android 2.2 tablet in Korea

LG (Korea) announced, that its LGU+ division (3G data service provider in Korea) and iriver will launch iriver tab (ILT-MX100) Android 2.2 tablet in Korea.

Iriver tab with its specialized educational content apps (3,500 different lectures, Naver, Hancom Office, Korea’s largest Internet bookstore, Google maps, Android market, e-books, e-magazines, dictionaries and more), will target elementary/middle/high school students and office workers.

The 3G/WiFi Android 2.2 (Froyo) tablet comes in white color and has a simple, but yet modern design. Its 7-inch WSVGA (1024 x 600) IPS display supports HD videos (at 720p/1080p) and various multimedia features. With LGU+ 3G data network and WiFi the user can take advantage of the entire mobile Internet anytime. With its battery 4800mAh the tablet can holds up to 8 hours, which makes it ideal for use in public transport, schools or libraries.
