Vizio prepares to exhibit three new notebook models at CES 2012 in Vegas.

Recently, Vizio’s CTO Matt McRae said in an interview with Bloomberg that the company will introduce three notebooks at CES 2012, this year.
The company worked on the designs for two years and will be showcasing (at CES) a 14-inch Thin + Light Notebook, 15.6-inch Thin + Light Notebook and a 15.6-inch Notebook. As always, Vizio’s strategy is to focus on value pricing, but this time the company also has plans to compete with Apple’s popular products, but at a lower price.

Lenovo unveiled its new ThinkPad X1 Hybrid – dual-CPU Dual-OS business notebook.

Today, Lenovo announced its ThinkPad X1 Hybrid business notebook (with up to 10 hours of battery life with integrated 4-cell and external slice 6-cell battery).
The ThinkPad X1 Hybrid notebook has a 13.3-inch high definition display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The Hybrid is powered by two processors and comes with a dual operating system. When in Windows 7, the notebook uses latest Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors, 160GB SSD or 320GB (5400rpm) hard drive. And when you switch to IMM (Instant Media Mode) the notebook starts using a dual core Qualcomm processor, 16 GB of additional storage and a custom Linux-based OS.

Today, LG announced that is readying to exhibit two new Ultrabooks and two new notebooks at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012 in Las Vegas. LG’s brand new Super Ultrabook Series, the Z330 and the Z430, offer powerful performance and sleek design unseen in ordinary Ultrabooks, while the P535 and the A540 establish a new standard for 3D notebooks.

Intel released N2600 and N2800 – its new low-power dual-core Atom processors for netbooks.

The N2600 and N2800 are Intel’s Third-generation Atom Cedar Trail processors with low-power designs intended for the netbook sector. Those 32nm processors offer 20% better performance compared to previous generation, full HD 1080p video Playback, up to 10 hours of battery life and weeks of standby at an affordable price.
The 1.6GHz N2600 and 1.86GHz N2800 dual-core processors work in harmony with the integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3600/ 3650 (which offer improved graphics performance up to 2X compared to the previous generations) and the Intel NM10 Express Chipset, featuring a small form factor package size which allows thinner netbook designs.

Yesterday, Asus uploaded a photo of its upcoming notebook which is again designed by the famous Asian singer, actor, and star of “The Green Hornet” movie – Jay Chou (as Kato). This is the second notebook designed for Asus, and inspired by the Asian Pop Superstar (after the “Incredible J” notebook). Hopefully Asus will make it official at CES in Las Vegas, next year.

Today, Sequans (French 4G chipmaker) announced that its WiMAX chip SQN1210 powers Sharp’s new 7-inch WiMAX tablet in Japan. The tablet is equipped with a dual-core processor, it has a 7-inch display, two cameras (front facing and rear), offers WiMAX and Wi-Fi connectivity, and runs Android 3.2 (Honeycomb).
The WiMAX chip SQN1210 is optimized for mobile handsets and offers baseband and triple band RF, both integrated in a single, 65nm die and supporting Sequans’ patented dual transmit uplink technology. The Sequans SQN1210 is an ultra low power consumption and ultra high performance chip, which lets users to browse the internet faster and get a smoother streaming media playback.
